WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT, July 16, 2024 — Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, a nonprofit rehabilitation-focused healthcare organization headquartered in Wallingford, is pleased to announce that it has received $7,500 in grant funding from the Bridgeport-based M&T Charitable Foundation.
The grant will support equitable access to the Louis D. Traurig House, Connecticut’s only transitional living center for patients recovering from acquired brain injuries and strokes.
Traurig House bridges the gap in care for individuals who do not require hospital-level care but are not yet ready to return home. The program focuses on bolstering residents’ daily living skills while facilitating access to vital outpatient therapies.
Roslyn Gilhuly, Associate Vice President of Development, said that for some residents with financial constraints or lack of insurance, funding from community partners like M&T Charitable Foundation ensures that they can access the vital care they need.
“We’re committed to ensuring that the patients we serve are able to return to the full and active lives they deserve,” she said.
“We are deeply appreciative of M&T Charitable Foundation’s partnership in helping Traurig House residents continue on their path to recovery and independence.”
