WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT, September 30, 2021 — Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, a nonprofit rehabilitation-focused healthcare system headquartered in Wallingford, was named a Hearst Connecticut Media Top Workplace, ranking third among large companies throughout Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties.
The Top Workplace awards program recognizes organizations for their commitment to excellence. Organizations participating in the program are evaluated based on feedback from an anonymous, voluntary 24-question employee engagement survey that evaluates workplace culture, company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, compensation and benefits.
Hearst Connecticut Media also named President and CEO Sonja LaBarbera as winner of the region’s “Top Leader” award within the large employer category.
With only 56 companies throughout Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties making the 2021 list, LaBarbera stated that the award is a “true testament” to Gaylord’s patient- and employee-centric culture.
