WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT, January 20, 2025 - Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, a nonprofit rehabilitation-focused healthcare system based in Wallingford, is proud to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from The Neag Foundation to support music therapy, mindfulness, and Reiki programs offered by Gaylord Hospital’s Office of Integrative Medicine.
Integrative medicine offers therapies that focus on wellness, empowerment, and quality of life for patients and staff. The programs are donor-funded and complement Gaylord’s clinical expertise by supporting the whole person – mind, body, and spirit.
With support from The Neag Foundation grant, Gaylord expects to provide at least 700 group and bedside music therapy sessions to enhance patients’ healing in 2025. The grant will also support Reiki and mindfulness sessions to decrease patient stress and promote relaxation.
“This grant allows us to expand programs that offer patients a sense of calm, connection, and empowerment as they navigate their rehabilitation journeys,” said Roslyn Gilhuly, Associate Vice President, Development.
“For those recovering from traumatic injuries and illnesses, these programs are not just therapeutic but transformative.”
The Neag Foundation serves as a philanthropic force for positive change in education, health, and human services initiatives.
