Brain Injury, Stroke and Young Stroke
Providing a path to recovery – physically, psychologically, emotionally, and socially.
We bring together an array of resources, advanced technology, plus a team of highly experienced providers to offer each brain injury or stroke patient an individualized approach to treatment. Our programs are designed to support patients at each stage of their recovery, helping them adapt to their post-injury lives, maximize their independence, and re-enter their communities.
Since every injury and every person is different, our interdisciplinary team will customize a path of recovery based on your specific needs and goals
Our inpatient program supports each stage of recovery with therapies that address the ability to speak, comprehend, reason, remember and work toward physical gains such as strength, balance and activities of daily living.
Gaylord's outpatient programs use various rehabilitation techniques, individual and group sessions, and new technology to maximize function, independence, and community reintegration.
Traurig House, located on our 400-acre Wallingford campus, is Connecticut's only transitional living center for patients recovering from a stroke or brain injury.

This inpatient program is designed for patients who cannot engage in a robust therapy schedule but are expected to progress to an intensive rehabilitation program. Referrals for this program come from team members at acute care hospitals.
