Pulmonary/Cystic Fibrosis - Brianna's Story

Brianna's Prom at Gaylord

When Brianna came to Gaylord it wasn't the first time she'd been hospitalized. The 17-year-old high school senior had battled the effects of cystic fibrosis (CF) all of her life. The genetic disease caused sticky mucous to accumulate in her lungs making it difficult to breathe and infection was a constant threat. In the hospital once again, Brianna was sure she was going to miss her senior prom. But with resourcefulness and energy, our staff created a prom for her at Gaylord, giving Brianna a special memory and the continued motivation to regain strength for lung surgery.
